FRIENDS OF MUSIC OPENS CLASSICAL MUSIC SEASON

Sunday, January 29, 2012, 2 pm, Sutter Creek Church of the Nazarene, 14050 Ridge Road. 
Chamber music concert featuring music for wind quintet by Franz Danzi, Darius Milhaud, and Ferenc Farkas, with Janet Telford, flute, Jane Buzzard, oboe, Hank King, clarinet, Bill Minkel, French horn and Gail Buzzard, bassoon.  Also the trio for violin, cello and piano by Irish-English composer Ernest Moeran, with Gil Carroll, violin, Russ Bartoli, cello and Ron Brickman, piano.  Free admission.

Sunday, February 12, 2012, 3 pm, Sutter Creek Theatre, Main Street, Sutter Creek. Music for violin, clarinet and piano including works by Armenian composer Aleksander Arutiunian, Saint-Saens, Milhaud and “The Klezmer’s Wedding” by Canadian-Israeli composer Srul Irving Glick.  With Corina Stoian, violin, Roman Fukshansky, clarinet, and Ron Brickman, piano.  Admission, $20 adult, $10 children K-12.  Tickets are available starting January 16 at Mother Lode Music (Prospect Plaza, Martell) or call 209-223-4323 or 293-4227.

Symphony Concert by the Orchestra of the Mother Lode Friends of Music. Conductor- Henrik Jul Hansen. All Latin American program with works by Gershwin, Gottschalk, Ginastera, and Marquez, with Tangos performed by Violin Soloist, Corina Stoian.
