Fourth Regional

Young Musicians’

Competition

Open to music students of high school age or younger learning the classical music repertory on all major string and wind instruments, piano and voice. Open to residents of Amador, Calaveras, Tuolumne and El Dorado counties only. Entrants may compete in the Senior Solo Division (solo with or without accompaniment for those aged 13 or over), Junior Solo Division (solo with or without accompaniment for those aged 12 or younger), or Ensemble Division (two or more young musicians of any age through high school performing as a group).

Deadline for applications: Friday, March 7, 2008

Date of auditions: Sunday, April 6, 2008, in Sutter Creek

Date of public performance of winners: Sunday, May 4, 2008, in Sutter Creek

Contestants at the audition will be judged by a panel of professional musicians and music teachers from outside the region and each contestant will receive a written evaluation of his or her performance.
