Summer Pops Concert

Mother Lode Friends of Music welcome the long, warm summer days with a delightful afternoon of operetta, light jazz, and show tunes, Sunday, June 9, 2019, 3:00 pm at the Sutter Creek Theater, Sutter Creek. 

Relax and enjoy a classic Summer Pops program with the music of Rodgers & Hammerstein, Leonard Bernstein, George Gershwin and Cole Porter, performed by Mother Lode Friends of Music and guests.

 Tenor Ricardo Campero, past winner in the Regional Metropolitan Opera competition, headlines the program, accompanied by Rebecca Nelson on piano. Campero is known for his effortless lyrical voice, and is in demand as a featured soloist. He has performed at Carnegie Hall, New York and at the Vatican in Rome.

        

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Joining Campero and Nelson on stage will be The Dogwood Chamber Players (Alice Williams, cello; Candis Kimball, oboe; Sandra Betti, flute) and Gordon Rowland on guitar.

The Sutter Creek Theatre, 44 Main Street, Sutter Creek, is a casual setting for a lively afternoon of summertime fun.

Admission to the concert is free.


2018 – 2019 Season, Second Chamber Concert

Mother Lode Friends of Music presents the second chamber concert of the 2018-2019 season, on Sunday, March 3rd at the Sutter Creek Theater. The concert begins at 1:00 pm and will be free of charge with donations welcomed.

Performances include pianist Jason Jeffrey performing Schumann’s Faschingsschwank aus Wien (Carnival Scenes from Vienna or Carnival Jest from Vienna); and, Brahms’ Rhapsody in B minor, Op. 79. 

Violinists Makena Clark and Zoe Schlussel, with Jason Jeffrey accompanying on piano, will perform Bach’s Concerto for 2 Violins in D minor, BWV 1043.

Chamber Music Concert

A concert of chamber music features the String Quintet in G minor, K 516, of W. A. Mozart, one of the composer’s finest chamber works, as performed by five of the Sacramento area’s top string players. Continue reading
